Uzere Kingdom Agog As Her King Returns Home After 9yrs

The Kingdom of Uzere in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State was beheeve of activities as they troupes out in their hundreds to welcome home their King, HRM Isaac Odhiwu Udogri I, who has been out of the community for a period nine years.

 

It would be recalled that in 2011, the traditional ruler exited the community for the safety of his life after an internal crisis that rocked Uzere kingdom.

 

Speaking at the grand reception in his home, the Royal Father said, “I feel very elated and excited to be back to be with my people and you can see without mistake there would be no correction and all the mistakes which they said I did at that time, I will make sure I correct them.

 

I will bring everybody together, I will treat everybody equally and those who said I have offended them, I asked them to forgive me and those who offended me, I will also forgive them.

 

According to him, “In a community where there is no peace and togetherness, there is always a problem. I will make sure I bring everybody together so that there would be peace and progress in the community.

 

“Since I am back, I will make sure that those who are aggrieved, I will bring together softly plead with them so that there would be peace in the community.

 

Also speaking, the President General of Isoko Development Union, IDU, Chief Iduh Amadhe said, “The coming back of His Royal Majesty to Uzere is a joyous one and you can see that the whole community is in a Jubilant mode.

 

“His coming will add more peace to the community, development and more unity that can attract investors to Uzere community because without peace, you cannot think of development.

“As the president of IDU, I feel very happy that my community is witnessing peace today and His Royal Majesty has asked everybody to forgive him and he has forgiven all this that wronged him.”

 

On his part, the Managing Director and CEO of DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh described the coming back of the monarch as a situation of no victor no vanquish.

 

“Uzere is known to be a very peaceful kingdom until we have the last crisis that came up and as a leader here in Uzere, I took it upon myself to do anything legally to see that peace return back to the kingdom to ensure that an enabling environment is put in place for there to be peace that would bring progress and development.

 

“It has not been very easy in bringing our people and engaging stakeholders to key into the agender of peace and I thank God almighty that made it possible that today, His Royal Majesty, Odhebe Odhiwu Udogri I, made a triumphant entry in his kingdom.

 

The sub-communities have agreed to put the bitterness and crisis behind them so that there can be peace and I thanked every body, and indeed our Isoko leaders who has come together to ensure that there is peace.

An indigent of the community, Mr. Charlie Itugbus who spoke in a joyous mode said, “Actually, it has not been easy during this period because it was a trying for Uzere people and it has been crisis in and out and maladministration in his absence.

 

“He left the community because of the threat to his life and after he left, there has been series of crisis in the community and you can see that the people are happy that he is back, we the people of Uzere will experience a lasting peace to reign in this community.”
